Following the Lions' playoff loss, Sean McVay treated Jared Goff with the utmost class.

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams were eliminated from the playoffs early after being defeated 24–23 by Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions in the wild-card round.

Naturally, Goff began his career in Los Angeles and was a previous first-round selection of the Rams.

Before the 2021 NFL season, he was part of a blockbuster transaction that sent Matthew Stafford to the Lions, along with several draft picks.

After the game, coach Sean McVay spoke to the media about the defeat and praised Dan Campbell and Detroit for their success.

Regarding the quarterback duels involving Stafford and Goff, he was all praise for his old counterpart."I'm extremely thrilled for him, but I believe it's been overdone.

Although we obviously wanted to win, he performed admirably.

During his post-game press conference, McVay stated, "I'm happy for Jared because of his grit, resilience, and the way he's done his thing here over the last three years."

"I'm grateful for our four years together, and Matthew Stafford is the only quarterback I would ever want to play for."

It will be intriguing to see if McVay and Goff meet in the center of the field for a postgame conversation before one of them enters a locker room knowing his season is over.
