Jim Harbaugh might still face a suspension from sanctions.

Just because he's back in the NFL and out of college, Jim Harbaugh, the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers

may still face penalties as a result of two parallel NCAA investigations.

According to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network

the league is "unlikely to make itself a safe harbor for Harbaugh to escape what could be substantial NCAA discipline."

Essentially, it appears that he may face a lengthy suspension, even while working in the NFL

if the NCAA judges that he deserves more punishment for signal stealing this year.

Remember, he was already suspended for the final four games of Michigan's regular season

before getting restored in time for the College Football Playoff championship.

It's a fascinating hypothesis. Fortunately, it appears that Harbaugh is bringing over the majority of his coaching staff from Michigan

so the system might perhaps survive a few weeks if he is penalized more.
